Tips

Preventive dentistry and routine maintenance help to prevent the development of problems like gingivitis, bone loss and the development of cavities.  It also reduces the likelihood of needing more costly emergency treatment in the future.  We are very proactive in preventing dental problems with regularly scheduled  cleanings, check ups and oral hygiene instructions.

Gum disease is progressive and can lead to bleeding gums, receding gums, lost teeth, bad breath, and sensitivity to hot and cold.  Our dental team will help to screen for tooth decay and gum disease.  We will give you home care techniques to keep your smile healthy and beautiful.

If you are tired of having stained, discolored, or dull looking teeth we can help you by giving you a whitening treatment.  This treatment will remove the yellowing in your teeth that has accumulated over the years from coffee, tea, soda, smoking, or red wine.

If your teeth are chipped cracked, or out of alignment, we can restore them and make them look cosmetically more pleasing by doing filling techniques, veneers, or crowns depending on the amount of tooth structure remaining.

If you grind or clench your teeth and have noticed having a sore jaw, a soft night guard is the treatment of choice.  This soft appliance is custom made to fit over either your top or bottom teeth giving a soft cushion effect between your upper and lower teeth.  The strong forces exerted by your jaw get distributed onto the night guard instead of breaking down your teeth .

We offer snore guards to our patients who snore at night and have trouble staying awake during the day due to lack of sleep.  This appliance fits over the top and lower teeth and positions the lower jaw forward a couple of millimeters causing the airway to stay open .  This in turn prevents any extra tissue from falling back in the air passageway which causes snoring.

If your are not happy with your misaligned teeth and wish they could be straighter we offer Invisalign. These clear trays will straighten your teeth and remove any crowding.  Most treatments range from nine to 24 months depending on the amount of crowding present.
We recommend brushing your teeth two to three times a day and flossing at night.  It is best to schedule your dental cleanings  every six months unless there is a history of periodontal disease (bone loss) it is best to schedule cleanings three or four times a year.  It is recommended to replace your toothbrush every three months.
